      ISOTOPCAT 2019

      Poitiers, FRANCE

Espace Pierre Mendès France, 1 Place de la Cathédrale, 86 POITIERS.

International Symposium on Isotopic Sudies in Catalysis and Electrocatalysis

The main purpose of the ISOTOPCAT symposium is to gather the catalysis and electrocatalysis communities in order to explore, review and compare the different methods of investigation based on isotopic labeling.

In particular the aim is to favor the exchanges between the scientists working on heterogeneous catalysis science, fuel cells and membrane technologies having important common problems to solve, especially the elucidation of diffusion and reaction mechanisms.

To facilitate the interaction and the debates between the scientists, this three-day symposium will be limited to a maximum of 150 participants in only one session.

Three main topics will be developed:

      •  Isotopic exchange with solids
      •  Isotopic labelling for determination of ionic transport parameters
      •  Isotopic labelling for mechanistic studies

      Keynote speakers:

      • Prof. Dr. Roger A. DE SOUZA
      • Prof Christopher HARDACRE
      • Prof. Michel CHE

European Summer School on Catalyst Preparation (CatPrep)

      Vogüe, Ardèche, France

Domaine Lou Capitelle in the village of Vogüe, in Ardèche.

European Summer School on Catalyst Preparation:

      Fundamental Concepts and Industrial Requirements

      Summer School Program

      1. Fundamental bases (introduction; physicochemistry of surfaces)
      2. Support and porous materials synthesis
      3. Active phase deposition (impregnation, precipitation, activation : drying, calcination, activation)
      4. Industrial requirements (up-scaling, regeneration)
      5. Other directions (colloidal methods, automated and high-throughput synthesis, characterisation methods, surface molecular chemistry, computational approaches)

The school will take place over 5 days from Sunday afternoon to Friday after lunch time, with 14 lectures of 1h30 and with time dedicated to questions, discussions as well as a poster session for allowing all participants to present their own research problematic, round table debates and practical experiments.

Summer School - Catalysis: from understanding to applications

Ecole des Mines d'Albi-Carmaux Campus Jarland 81013 Albi FRANCE

The objective of this Summer School is to present catalysis as a tool of preference for the development of sustainable processes, respectful to the environment. Catalysis is indeed at the heart of Green Chemistry: atom economy, selectivity and energy economy, transformation of raw materials into targeted products.

This Summer School focuses on understanding how the catalytic processes take place, including cutting-edge techniques, modelling and design of reactors. The activation of small molecules will be presented as an application show-case.

Participants are encouraged to submit posters, which will also be presented by flash communications.

Deadline for registration and poster abstract submission:  April 30, 2019

ELITECAT 2019 - Catalysis training course

LYON - Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1

Bâtiment Charles DARWIN 'Fontannes' conference room 3-9 Rue Raphaël Dubois 69100 Villeurbanne, France

A major challenge for scientists and engineers is to develop new reaction pathways which are efficient in terms of atoms, reaction steps, energy consumption and wastes, and more selective and safer. Catalysis plays a key role in the development of new reaction paths and requires of highly skilled professionals who are able to understand their principles and tools in order to pave the way from lab to industrial applications.

With this objective, a catalysis training course is hosted every two years since 2013 at the LyonTech La Doua scientific campus, in Villeurbanne, which is mainly aimed at young researchers with interests in the field.
