2006-2015Project leader of the group “Refinery and innovative valorization of hydrocarbons” at IRCELYON and in charge of activities concerning the development of new catalysts for alkanes oxidation and valorization of biomass for the synthesis of basic chemicals.

As a member of the ECI2D team, Jean-Marc Millet is currently working on the valorization of biomass derivatives (alcohols, aldehydes) for the production of chemical intermediates but also on the intensification of mild oxidation processes. Indeed, if the development of new sources of carbon is important for the future, a radical transformation of the chemical industry is necessary. This transformation involves the intensification of processes for more controlled and environmentally friendly production, and energy saving. The challenge of intensification of mild oxidation processes lies in the control of the structure of highly complex multi-element existing catalysts in structured reactor channels or the development of new catalysts adapted to this technology.
