The team of J. Canivet and F. Wisser at IRCELYON has started 2020 by publishing in Angewandte Chemie International Edition an unprecedented heterogeneous photosystem fully integrated into a single porous matrix able to convert atmospheric carbon dioxide into formate, as a green fuel, without any loss of productivity after 4 days of continuous visible light illumination. This can only be achieved thank to the rational design of multifunctional porous macroligands. J. Canivet and F. Wisser shared a vision of the continuum between homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis with the concept of microporous macroligands inChemCatChem.
