Womens International Day at Ircelyon
Ircelyon welcomes young students every year in celebration of the International Womens Day and the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. This event offers women from the institute, whether they hold scientific or administrative roles, the opportunity to share their career paths and professions with these young participants.
This year, around twenty students from the Saint-Exupéry High School in Valserhône discovered the activities conducted within our institute, ranging from lab experiments and analytical techniques to the various missions carried out in the offices. Additionally, they had the chance to freely exchange with undergraduate and postgraduate students and doctoral candidates, asking all their questions about their paths and daily lives. The only male speaker of the day was the director of the institute, who came to present Ircelyon and its research fields.
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Corinne Augier, professor at the Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 and physicist at the Institut de Physique des 2 Infinis de Lyon (IP2I), who reached out to us to participate in this initiative led by the Lyon-based group Women & Science. Furthermore, you can discover her scientist portrait, crafted by the CNRS.
